This year, we finally caught up with friends and industry colleagues that we haven't seen face to face for a long time, due to the Covid-19 pandemic last year. This show gives dealers a closer look at new guns that will begin shipping between now and early 2022. Despite two challenges to record gun sales nationwide and a supply chain slowdown, supply, many manufacturers continue to expand their catalogs. Here's a look at some of the models on display.
American Tactical (AT) now offers the Alpha-15 (above), an affordable AR-15 pattern carbine that costs less than many rifles in its class. Equipped with a 16" pencil barrel, it tips the scales at 5.51 pounds unloaded. This weight reduction is achieved through extensive use of carbon fiber-infused polymer components, including upper and lower receivers, protective tube, trigger, and 8 MLOK handguards .Ships with polymer flip-up sights, a 6-position adjustable shoulder stock, an American Tactical 30-round magazine, and an A2 flash hider for a suggested retail price of $499.95.

One of the latest releases that caught our eye was the .450 Bushmaster Lite chambered in .450 Bushmaster. This weight reduction model is configured to be more comfortable to wear when hunting deer, bear and boar, while significantly reducing the level of recoil produced by this large bore cartridge. . Features include Snake Charmer muzzle brake, 20" barrel, BFI 14" free float fore-end, DM2S 2-stage trigger, 5-round aluminum magazine, and A2-style fixed shoulder stock. Century Arms continues to expand its popular line of Canik polymer frame semi-auto pistols with the introduction of the METE (pronounced Met-Ay) series that includes the SFT and SFx models chambered in 9mm. Based on the Canik TP series, these pistols include improvements based on consumer and engineering feedback. It includes an integrated flared mag-well, an angled rear sight for emergency one-handed operation, a redesigned beavertail, and an optics-ready slide. Each pistol ships with 18 and 20 round magazines along with a holster and various accessories packaged in a lockable hard case. The SFT model with a 4.42" barrel has a suggested retail price of $520. The SFx with a longer 5.2" barrel and vented slide retails for $575.

Christensen Arms of Gunnison, Utah specializes in the manufacture of premium precision bolt action rifles and custom carbon fiber barrels. The latest model from this company is the Ridgeline Scout. The European American Armory (EAA) pays tribute to one of the most widely adopted 9mm military pistols in the world, namely John Browning's iconic Hi Power, or P-35. EAA's latest interpretation of this classic pistol design is the MC P35 made in Turkey by Girsan. This short recoil operated pistol maintains the sleek and slim profile of the original with all steel construction, matte black finish and a 4.625” barrel.
The traditional trigger allows for a short trigger reset and is accessible even when wearing gloves. The serrated ring hammer is easy to cock and less strain on the firing hand than the original hammer design. The double-stack magazines hold 15 rounds instead of 13. Other features include an external extractor, dovetail sights, ambidextrous thumb safety, magazine disconnect safety, and textured black polymer grip panels. The MC P35 has a suggested retail price of $528.
Inland Manufacturing insists we'll keep you guessing as to what they'll come up with next. Although the company is best known for fully functional replicas of World War II rifles, shotguns, and pistols, next year the company will offer an unusual rimfire top for the AR-15 carbine. The SLT-17 and SLT-22 will be chambered in .17 HMR and .22 WMR respectively.

These gas operated tops use a patented ball bearing lock design developed by Michael Garrow. The SLT action is designed to prevent firing unless the action is fully closed to avoid case-break hazards that occur with some recoil-operated action designs. Other features include a stainless steel barrel, threaded muzzle, and floating aluminum forend. The SLT first ships with polymer magazines that fit Mil-Spec 5.56mm NATO and .223 Rem. AR-15 lower receivers. Look for them to start shipping in Spring 2022 with a suggested retail price of $645.
This year, Kalashnakov USA gave us a sneak peek at a pre-production prototype of their version of a non-NFA 12 gauge. weapon Like the 12 gauge Mossberg Shockwave, it has a curved bird's head grip, a short 14" barrel, and a 26" overall length. But that's where their similarities end. Called Chaos, Kalashnakov's offering is a semi-automatic based on the company's AK-pattern KS-12T shotgun. This gas-operated scattered pistol feeds from removable 5- or 10-round magazines. Chaos will also pioneer the company's new one-handed trading action. Most AK-type shotguns must have the bolt locked in the open position in order to insert a fully loaded magazine into the receiver. The action of this pistol is designed to be reloaded with the bolt closed. The official release date and price for Chaos has not been determined as of this writing.
Legacy Sports International imports a variety of useful sporting weapons, including top-notch bolt-action rifles made by Howa in Japan. This year the company will expand its catalog of Howa 1500 light models in different calibers. Among the new options is the Carbon Elevate with a listed unloaded weight of just 4.2 lbs. Available chambered in 6.5mm Grendal, .308 Win., 6.5mm Creedmoor, or 6.5mm PRC, the Elevate is equipped with a feather-like carbon fiber stock treated with a camo finish. It is also equipped with a carbon fiber wrapped barrel, threaded muzzle, H.A.C.T. Two stage trigger, rotating studs, and a removable magazine. The price has not been announced.
Magnum Research is celebrating two decades of manufacturing the Biggest Finest Revolver (BFR) with an exclusive anniversary edition. The handcrafted 20th Anniversary BFR is part of a limited series, with only 20 pistols to be produced. It is built on the original long frame receiver and chambered in .45-70 Gov't, just like the early production guns. Made entirely of satin-finish stainless steel, these revolvers feature an octagonal barrel complete with a custom E-Rod housing and cradle pin. The traditional plow style grip frame is fitted with a soft white synthetic grip panel. The exterior surfaces are engraved with elegant scrollwork by the artists of Tyler Gun Works. The revolvers will ship with a wooden case and a signed letter of authenticity for a suggested retail price of $7,200.
